Why the name Ferrymoor?
I was fortunate to grow up in this area of Richmond in Surrey and it is here where I first encountered two types of computers. One when I was at school and used Windows 95 – yes I am that old and another was a former office computer that was being thrown away and my father brought back.
‘You won’t be able to get that to work’, he said. ‘I will have a go’, I said. It was a basic word processor with a monitor and a printer. Within 30 minutes, I got the machine to print.
Ferrymoor to me is not the start and end, but a passage through. The boat being the person and the river being life itself with the landing points and piers being the experience that shape the journey that we traverse through.
I created this site to prove to myself that I can and to have my little, humble home on the internet. True it isn’t a striking site, but nevertheless, it is an accomplishment to myself, and that I believe is what matters.
